On December 9th Hickory Creek celebrated their Annual Tree Lighting and Christmas Celebration. Mayor Smith, the Council, town employees and board members and their families were there to share this wholesome family affair, organized by Parks and Recreation Board President, Brandi Bollack.

The beautifully decorated tree in the Town Hall rotunda was glowing brightly. The room was filled with cheerful holiday songs as the carolers sang seasonal favorites and everyone enjoyed hot chocolate  and fresh cookies from Teddy Bear’s Picnic, a local sweet shop.

The children gathered to hear the story book reading by Court Administrator, Gayla Martin. Councilwoman Karen Clark started a new town tradition by giving everyone in attendance a special 2006 Town of Hickory Creek Christmas tree ornament. There may still be some left if you would like to have one.
